Red Desert Complex
Overview
The Red Desert Complex is located in Sweetwater and Carbon Counties, Wyoming. The Red Desert Complex gathers, compresses, treats, processes and fractionates natural gas and NGLs produced in the eastern portion of the Greater Green River Basin, providing service primarily to the Red Desert and Washakie Basins. In addition, the Red Desert Complex is inextricably linked to the Anadarko Petroleum Corporation land grant acreage across the southern Wyoming corridor.
Anadarko Midstream owns and operates two cryogenic gas processing plants with a current capacity of 150 MMcf/d. Residue gas is delivered to the Colorado Interstate Gas Co. (CIG) and Wyoming Interstate Company, Ltd. (WIC) interstate pipelines. NGLs are delivered to the Mid-America pipeline system, truck or rail loading facilities. Natural gas is gathered in the field and compressed at approximately 8 compressor stations which operate between a 5 psig and 300 psig suction pressure.
The Red Desert Complex processing capacity is also being expanded to approximately 200 MMcf/d. A new compressor station was constructed in fall 2007 to provide 75 psig suction service to a significant portion of gas located in the greater Wamsutter area.
