Wattenberg Gathering System
Overview
The premier gas gathering system in the DJ Basin, northeast of Denver, is the Anadarko Midstream-owned and operated Wattenberg gathering system. This asset has been operated on a standalone basis for nearly 15 years. It has the competitive advantage of the overall lowest average system pressure and historically low FL&U. Anadarko's Midstream commitment to stay and operate in the basin is evidenced by our commitment to a new 90,000 barrels-per-day crude oil line that will extend out of the DJ Basin to Cushing, Oklahoma. As part of this commitment, Anadarko will build and operate a 100,000-barrel tank and truck unloading terminal at Platteville, Colorado as a treating and blending operation.
Company-operated production represents about 60% of the total system throughput. The operation and management of the gathering system focus is on reliability and low system operating pressures. Gas is delivered for processing to many third-party plants including:
- BP - Wattenberg Plant
- EnCana - Fort Lupton Plant
- AKA Energy Plant
- DCP area plants
- Aggressive well connection program
