Wattenberg Gathering System
Overview
Owned and operated by Western Gas Partners, LP, the Wattenberg system is located in the Denver-Julesburg Basin, north and east of Denver, Colorado and consists of a 1,781-mile wet gas gathering system and the Ft. Lupton processing plant. The Fort Lupton processing plant has two trains with combined processing capacity of 105 MMcf/d.
The Wattenberg gathering system is primarily supplied by the Wattenberg field and covers portions of Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield and Weld counties. Anadarko controls approximately 762,000 gross acres in the Wattenberg field, and during 2011, drilled 472 wells and completed 2,090 fracs in connection with its active recompletion and re-frac program at the Wattenberg field. Anadarko has identified 1,200 to 2,700 opportunities to increase production including new well locations, re-fracs and recompletions.
