About the Eagleford Shale
The Eagleford Shale in southwest Texas is a premier liquids-rich development in the United States. With its higher-margin oil, the Eagleford Shale is also among the most capital-efficient shale plays in Anadarko’s U.S. onshore portfolio.
In 2011, industry activity in the Eagleford Shale generated more than $25 billion in total economic output.
Energy resources in the Eagleford Shale are abundant and creating jobs with significant benefits to local and state economies. By 2021, Eagleford Shale activity is expected to generate more than $90 billion in total economic output and support more than 116,000 full-time jobs in the South Texas region, according to the University of Texas San Antonio (UTSA) Institute for Economic Development.

Anadarko Operating Highlights
Anadarko is among the largest producers in the Eagleford Shale with approximately 400,000 gross acres in Dimmit, LaSalle, Maverick and Webb Counties. In 2012, the company accelerated production growth in the Eagleford Shale achieving a gross processed production record of approximately 152,600 BOE per day.
Providing Energy to Consumers
Anadarko currently operates approximately 380 miles of oil and natural gas pipelines throughout the southwest Texas region, with additional gathering facilities that support more than 50 percent of its Eagleford Shale production. In March 2012, Anadarko and Western Gas Partners, LP (NYSE:WES), a publicly traded midstream master limited partnership, began construction of the Brasada gas processing plant, capable of processing up to 200 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) with expandability of up to 400 MMcf/d. The Brasada plant, and construction of an additional 200 miles of gathering lines, will further the value for what is already one of Anadarko’s top-performing onshore assets.
