2010 Success
Anadarko built upon the success of 2009 and again was among the most active and successful global explorers in 2010 with eight significant offshore discoveries during the year. Discoveries were made in Ghana, Sierra Leone, Brazil, Indonesia and Mozambique where the company announced two of the top ten discoveries in the world at the Windjammer and Lagosta wells. In total, Anadarko's global offshore exploration program achieved a 50-percent success rate, and a 100-percent success rate on its appraisal wells.
2009 Success
Anadarko was one of the most successful deepwater explorers in 2009 with nine significant discoveries -- four of them in international waters. The company announced discoveries at the Mahogany Deep and Tweneboa prospects offshore Ghana, the Venus prospect offshore Sierra Leone and the Itaipu pre-salt prospect offshore Brazil. Each of these discoveries helped Anadarko achieve an overall deepwater exploration success rate of better than 50 percent.
