 Planned Mozambique LNG Project

Anadarko is Investing in the Future of Mozambique

Estimated recoverable resources in the range of 17 to 30+ Tcf are ideally suited for a large-scale LNG development, which will likely represent the largest foreign investment ever made in Mozambique over the life of the project.

Anadarko and its partners are currently designing the onshore liquefaction facility to consist of at least two trains with the flexibility to expand to six trains; each with the capacity to process 5 million tonnes per annum.

Barquentine-2 Successful Flow Test

Anadarko and its partners safely conducted a successful flow test at the Barquentine-2 well offshore Mozambique during early March 2012.

In March 2012, Anadarko announced the results of its successful Barquentine-2 flow test. The well flowed at facility-constrained rates of between 90 and 100 million cubic feet of natural gas per day (MMcf/d) with minimal pressure drawdown. The results provide confidence in well designs that are capable of 100 to 200 MMcf/d. The data collected from the testing program will help the partnership determine the optimal plans for subsea field development. Additionally, the company plans to leverage its experience gained from extensive worldwide deepwater projects including Independence Hub in the Gulf of Mexico to design and construct a flexible offshore production system to collect gas from the wells located approximately 35 miles (56 km) offshore and tied back to the liquefaction plant onshore.

Mozambique LNG Project Conceptual Timeline

In cooperation with the government of Mozambique, Anadarko and its partners continue to advance the project toward reserve certification and a Final Investment Decision (FID) in 2013. First LNG production is currently expected in 2018.
