Wattenberg HZ: Community

Giving Back to Colorado Communities

Anadarko recognizes the importance of giving back to the communities where we operate. Voted Denver's Top Work Place of 2012 by the Denver Post and the recipient of the 2011 National Philanthropy Day Outstanding Large Business/Corporation in Colorado, Anadarko's employees are committed to partnering with the United Way, Weld Food Bank, Boys and Girls Club, Livestock Shows, and numerous other organizations that develop youth, fund education and provide for those who are in need. We're proud to partner with the following organizations:

  • American Cancer Society
  • Boys and Girls Club
  • Greeley Stampede
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • National Western Stock Show and Junior Auction
  • Weld County Fair and Junior Auction
  • Weld County Food Bank
  • Weld County Special Olympics

In addition to these charitable initiatives, Anadarko plans to invest more than $2.5 billion in capital in Colorado over 2013 and 2014, and the company's operating activities have generated more than $600 million in tax revenue, salaries and royalties for state and local governments from 2007-2012. In Weld County alone, which is in the heart of the Wattenberg field, Anadarko paid more than $74 million in taxes that directly benefit local schools, emergency response and other county programs in 2012. We're proud to employ more than 1,100 men and women in Colorado directly, as well as support induced employment throughout the northeastern part of the state.

Community engagement is also important to Anadarko. The company's Executive Chairman, Jim Hackett addressed the company's approach to transparency and need for informed discussions during the 2012 Energy Epicenter Conference in Denver, which was hosted by the Colorado Oil & Gas Association. You can view Mr. Hackett's remarks on our YouTube channel.

Anadarko's employees regularly meet with stakeholders throughout the Wattenberg field to talk about the Wattenberg HZ program and listen to community questions. Select the "Download PDF" button below to view an example of the presentation slides frequently used during these meetings.
