Anadarko’s continued global business approach has led to significant discoveries and developments throughout the African continent.
Anadarko Discoveries in Mozambique
In 2010, Anadarko made its first discovery in the Offshore Area 1 of the deepwater Rovuma Basin, launching one of the most important natural gas discoveries in the last 20 years. Today, the company and its partners have discovered more than 75 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of recoverable natural gas resources in Offshore Area 1 and are working to develop one of the world’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects.
The massive natural gas discoveries have the potential to elevate Mozambique to the world’s third-largest exporter of natural gas.
Anadarko is advancing the Mozambique LNG Project in a sustainable manner and with a commitment to maximizing local content, improving the country’s educational and training opportunities, and protecting its unique environment and local communities.
