Making a Major Play in Colorado
In 2013 and 2014, Anadarko invested more than $3 billion in capital in the state, as the company more than doubled year-over-year production from its growing horizontal drilling program in the Wattenberg field.
Wattenberg Field – Northeastern Colorado
Anadarko holds approximately 350,000 net acres in the Wattenberg field and estimates it holds 1 to 1.5 billion BOE of recoverable resources on its acreage, with an additional 500 million barrels of potential with optimized spacing. The Wattenberg field has all the ingredients of a premier asset: established infrastructure, experienced personnel, more than 30 years of operating history, a growing resource opportunity and mineral-interest ownership via the Union Pacific Railroad Land Grant.
The company has made a huge investment in Colorado, having invested an additional $5 billion in capital from 2007 to 2013 and employing more than 1,300 men and women with offices in Denver, Platteville and Evans.
For every new horizontal well Anadarko drills, Coloradans receive more than $320,000 in severance and ad valorem tax revenue that funds K-12 education and other public services.
We’re making significant investments in our Colorado operations. Take a look at available jobs.
“The technological advances made by our industry are often overlooked. We have made significant investments in the Wattenberg field and throughout Colorado to enhance our operations -- less surface impact, fewer trucks on the road, remote-monitoring capabilities and more. These improvements lead to increased safety, while reducing our footprint and increasing production of the resources that are fundamental to modern life.”
