Anadarko today issued the following statement in response to the defeat of Proposition 112 in Colorado.
“We appreciate the passionate efforts of our employees and many others who shared information to help bring Coloradans together to defeat this extreme measure,” said Al Walker, Anadarko Chairman, President and CEO. “We recognize the defeat of Proposition 112 is not a lasting referendum, and we will work with the newly elected officials and those continuing in office to find a better equilibrium to reduce the concerns associated with the rapidly growing population and oil and gas activity in Colorado. For the betterment of the state, the communities, and our industry, we need to work together to eliminate, to the extent possible, this two-year cycle that increasingly hurts economic stability in the state. We look forward to finding lasting solutions to these challenges so that communities remain protected, jobs are sustained, and our vital industry and the state of Colorado can thrive.”
