Upstream - Colorado

Anadarko is among the largest producers of oil and clean-burning natural gas in the state.

A Premier Asset

Anadarko is committed to Colorado's long-term success, having invested more than $10 billion in capital over the last five years and employing approximately 1,100 men and women with offices in Denver, Platteville and Evans.

DJ Basin – Northeastern Colorado

Anadarko holds approximately 400,000 net acres in the DJ Basin development area and estimates it holds more than 2 billion BOE of recoverable resources on its acreage. The DJ Basin has all the ingredients of a premier asset: established infrastructure, experienced personnel, more than 30 years of operating history, a growing resource opportunity and mineral-interest ownership via the Union Pacific Railroad Land Grant.

The DJ Basin is a focus area for Anadarko and a key component in the company's growth objectives. Already producing about a quarter-million BOE per day, Anadarko expects to increase production to more than 400,000 BOE per day by 2021. That's enough energy to meet the needs of more than 3 million average American households each day.

Giving at Anadarko is powered by people who care deeply about the communities we call home. In many ways, it’s more than giving; it’s making an investment in a future we all share. In 2016 alone, Anadarko and its employees supported more than 110 Colorado non-profit organizations, including United Way, Junior Achievement and Habitat for Humanity. “We have made significant investments in technology to improve our operations in the DJ Basin and throughout Colorado. Today, our operations utilize less surface area, require fewer trucks, include 24-hour remote-monitoring capabilities and more. These improvements lead to increased safety, while making our operations more compatible with surrounding communities and increasing production of the resources that make modern life possible.”
